Of course, we encourage parents to stay and observe. However, we kindly ask that you refrain from coaching your children during class. We also ask that you maintain a respectful volume level, as our children are working hard to learn new skills.

For children, we adhere to the IBJJF stripe and belt promotion rules set. This means that if children are attending classes regularly, they will receive a stripe roughly once a month and new belts based on the IBJJF timeline.
For adults, we adhere to the IBJJF belt promotion requirements.

We allow children to enter competitions at all class levels – and encourage it – as it is a powerful tool for improving their jiujitsu. If your child expresses interest in competing, feel free to ask your coaches about upcoming competitions and how to effectively prepare. If your child is competing, it is an expectation that they are training a minimum of 3 times per week.

Children are moved to the next class level based on age and their performance during class. With every level change comes an increase in expectations and intensity which we work hard to ensure each child is prepared for.
